How to connect SMPS in RO?
In this article, we will discuss about the procedure of connection of SMPS in RO System. There are two types of eclectic wiring which is called AC and DC wiring. Here are the following steps to connect SMPS in RO are mentioned below:
Important steps to connect SMPS in RO:
- Power Disconnection: First of all, before commencing to connect SMPS, check that theRO water purifier is opened through every source of power.
- Identification of Connection: Then, discover the input and output terminals of SMPS, also the correlating connections with the RO purifier. Take help with the manual for particular wiring diagrams and needs of voltage.
- Conflict meets: ensure carefully that the positive (+) and negative (-) wires from the SMPS connected accurately with the corresponding terminals on the RO purifier. It can cause damage if it is not matched correctly.
- Connections Security: arrange and Use precise tools (pliers and screwdriver etc.) for tightening the wire connections hardly for making sure that correct contact and it stops loosening.
- Landing (if applicable): whether the SMPS or RO system needs grounding, then align the grounding wire to a appropriate grounding point, like the earthlings terminal of a 3-pin socket.
- Management: of the Cable: Organize cords neatly to prevent clutter and potential hazards. Use cable ties or organizers for a neat and secure setup.
- Procedure For the connection of AC Electric Wiring: First of all, we have to check whether the old SMPS is fine or not, if it is not then it should be upgraded.
- Now, find out that the location of AC and DC in SMPS, for checking this, all the wire have to be opened and separated one by one and the choke also has to be removed and separated.
- Now, to check the old SMPS, it has one side on the left side with thick wire and the right side it has small wires which is DC Electric.
- After that, take the large cable only on the left side, cut it a little so that the wires come out from out from it, peel off two wires and cut them.
- Now on the side of the SMPS, put the fluid switch connection and remove it, then connect the red wire of the fluid switch.
- After connecting the plants, tape them properly, the advantage of this will be that when the current will come from the red wire of the cable and connect it and apply tape. Whenever current flows from the switch board to the fluid switch. If there is no water in the tank then this current will go forward instead of going towards the SMPS.
- Now connect the black wire to the UV choke’s black wire connect them and apply tape then, connect the black wire of the UV choke and the wire coming from the switch board together. The white wire of the ABV showcase is to be connected to the adapter.
Some points to remember:
The current coming from the switch board is said to be going towards the fluid switch and from here it is going towards the thunderbolt, one end of it is going towards the SMPS and the other end is going towards the UV choke.
Now the first wiring of AC is done. Then, keep aside the wiring that has already been done.
Procedure For the connection of DC Electric Wiring:
- First of all, the two wires of the uv square will be attached to the two ends of the uv tube. Now keep them aside for a while as this is a very easy wiring.
- For example, SMPS has two terminals, one of which is white and the other black, and which is the switch of the auto [plus], its red wire can be connected to any one of the SMPS side, after connecting it, the other terminal is also connected, If you want to adjust the SV level then you can use the tape regularly.
- Now, connect the other white wire of SMPS which is blocked to both the red wires of booster pump, then connect the red wire of SV and the red wire of auto board and put tape on the right path so that it becomes easy to do other wiring.
- Then, connect the white wire of the service, the red wire of the auto power switch and the black wire of the RO pump together.
- Now, connect the black wire (extended) of the SMPS, the black wire of the booster pump, the white wire of the SV and the second red wire of the auto plug and apply tape together.
- If in the water purifier does not have auto plug system then it is necessary to connect it.
- Finally, the connection of SMPS in the RO is done. Then, set it to the RO by moving the power switch to the RO.
- In this way, connect the off switch and also connect the Ruskit, then set the body by also connecting the choke.
Conclusion:
- Classification of protection: don’t forget to every time consult manuals and disconnect power before doing any electrical works.
- Equivalent current and voltage: always make sure the SMPS matches with the requirements of RO purifier.
- Conflict confirmation: carefully-check positive and negative wire connections for stopping damage.
- Connection’s Security: always Tighten wires hardly for making sure best contact and to stop [loosening.
- Landing (if applicable): Align landing wires for the protection if needed.
- Cables Management: Arrange wires cleanly for avoiding potential and clutter hazards.
- Revision of connections: Amend-to ensures all connections before powering on.
- Look for support: whether it is not sure, seek advice from qualified electricians or manufacturers for guidance.
- Moisturizer Protection: Think about waterproofing measures for non-waterproof SMPS units.
- Keep maintaining daily: Check all the connections and electric elements for wear or damage.

To check this, all the wires have to be opened and separated one by one, and the choke also has to be removed and separated.
